Meet Our Team

Meet Gemma
Gemma is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP), member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and the proud director of Precious Gems Speech Therapy. She graduated from Macquarie University, both with a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences and a Master of Speech and Language Pathology, and has worked with many beautiful children and their families for over 10 years in both not-for-profit organisations and private practice. Gemma has worked as a senior clinician, senior supervisor and team leader.

Gemma is incredibly passionate and experienced with supporting children aged 18 months to 5 years in developing their speech and language skills. Early intervention is so important and she knows how important it is at this age to keep therapy fun and engaging!
Having two young children of her own has deeply enriched Gemma's practice as a speech pathologist. She has firsthand insight into the importance of incorporating language and speech stimulation into daily activities (like mealtimes, bedtime and playtime), and ensures that she supports families with strategies that are practical and flexible to fit into their busy lives.
Gemma is continuously doing additional training and keeping up-to-date with the best methods for early intervention. Some additional training includes:
-
It Takes Two to Talk: The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Language Delays
-
More Than Words: The Hanen Program® for Parents of Autistic Children or Children Who May Benefit from Social Communication Support
Outside of work, Gemma enjoys spending time with her determined 3-year-old, energetic 1-year-old and lovely husband; baking delicious treats and spending time at the zoo.
Please contact Gemma at 0431 944 691 or email her at gemma@preciousgemsspeech.com.au. She'd love to meet you!
